APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Nelsonite is easy to apply and delivers consistent, proven results trusted by professionals for decades. Its true one-coat application makes it simple to integrate into any manufacturing process—no extra steps required. With just one application, you’ll enhance your product’s value, improve finish quality, and bring out richer, more uniform color.

WHY IT WORKS

Nelsonite penetrates deep into the wood’s structure, lining the cell walls to create a moisture-resistant barrier. Applied by dipping or spraying, it cures to stabilize the wood and prevent common issues like warping, cracking, shrinkage, and swelling.

NELSONITE APPLICATION GUIDE

Step 1 – Prepare with Purpose
Plan your manufacturing process with Nelsonite in mind. Complete all sanding, machining, and assembly before applying the product.

Step 2 – Apply Before Finishing
Nelsonite should be applied prior to staining or finishing. Be sure to complete all gluing operations beforehand, as adhesives may interfere with penetration.

Step 3 – Check Moisture Content
Ensure the wood’s moisture content is between 6–10% before application. Most domestically sourced wood falls within this range, but it's important to confirm for optimal results.

Step 4 – Apply and Let Dry
Apply Nelsonite by dipping or spraying, allowing the product to penetrate fully. Let the piece dry for 24 hours to allow solvents to evaporate and resins to begin curing. Any remaining odor will dissipate within a week.

Step 5 – Finish as Usual
Once dry, proceed with your standard staining and finishing schedule. Nelsonite enhances the performance of your topcoats and helps preserve the finished product.
